How Valorant Rounds Work
Valorant is a tactical shooter built around two teams of five, alternating between attack and defense. Attackers work to plant the Spike, while defenders stop the plant or defuse it after placement. Each round begins with a credit-based buy phase for weapons, shields, and abilities. The title stands apart through agents with different tactical roles, making team choices, map control, and round
timing central to every match.
- Round objective — Attackers aim to plant the Spike at a site, while defenders protect sites and attempt a defuse after the Spike has been planted.
